Cooking Timer 65 min
Portions 4
Ingredients
  • 500 g ground beef (or a mix of beef and pork)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 1/2 cup ketchup or BBQ sauce
  • Sides: Mashed potatoes or roasted potatoes
How To Do
  • 1.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, Parmesan cheese, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until everything is evenly incorporated, but avoid overmixing to keep the meatloaf tender.
  • 2.
Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet or in a loaf pan.
  • 3.
Lay the bacon slices over the top of the meatloaf, tucking the ends underneath to secure them.
  • 4.
Brush the top of the bacon-wrapped meatloaf with ketchup or BBQ sauce for a sweet, tangy glaze.
  • 5.
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the meatloaf in the oven and bake for 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C). If desired, turn on the broiler for the last 2-3 minutes to crisp up the bacon.
  • 6.
Let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain its juices.
