Ingredients
How To Do
-
1.Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Spread the bread cubes on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for 10-15 minutes, stirring halfway, until they are golden and slightly crisp. Set aside.
-
2.In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage meat, breaking it apart with a spoon, until browned and cooked through. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
-
3.In the same skillet, melt the butter. Add the chopped onion and celery, and sauté for 4-5 minutes until softened. Add the diced apples and garlic and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
-
4.In a large mixing bowl, combine the toasted bread cubes, cooked sausage, sautéed vegetables, parsley, sage, thyme, black pepper, and salt to taste.
-
5.Pour the chicken or vegetable broth over the mixture and gently toss to moisten the bread. Add the beaten eggs and mix until everything is evenly combined.
-
6.Lightly grease a baking dish and spread the stuffing mixture evenly.
-
7.Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown and slightly crispy.
-
8.Sprinkle additional chopped parsley on top before serving for a fresh touch. Serve warm as a side dish to your main meal.
