Cooking Timer 20 min
Portions 4
Ingredients
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 1⁄4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (plus extra for cooking)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chip (For the Chocolate Drizzle)
  • 1 tbsp butter or cream (For the Chocolate Drizzle)
  • Topping: Fresh Berries / Whipped Cream / Maple Syrup
How To Do
  • 1.
Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • 2.
Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  • 3.
Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, whisking gently until the batter is smooth. Be careful not to overmix; lumps are okay!
  • 4.
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter.
  • 5.
Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook for about 2-3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  • 6.
In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and butter. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate over a double boiler on the stove.
